The Grapevine Fires

Great song made better by a great video.
Reviews and often DRM free MP3’s of music I like

I’ve always been a fan of those Fighters of Foo and am a little late on the bandwagon for their latest, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace but it’s the best album I’ve heard in years. Here’s the lone instrumental track on the album, Ballad of the Baconsfield Miners.
I highly recommend checking this album out.
I’ve never been a fan a big of Coldplay but I did appreciate my rediscovery of this awesome song at just the right time. The lyrics couldn’t be more perfect if I had penned them myself.
Amsterdam by Coldplay
Lyrics:
Come on, my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
If i, if I’d only waited
I’d not be stuck here in this hole
Come here, my star is fading
And I swerve out of control
And I swear, I waited and waited
I’ve got to get out of this hole
But time is on your side
Its on your side now
Not pushing you down and all around
It’s no cause for concern
Come on, oh my star is fading
And I see no chance of release
And I know I’m dead on the surface
But I am screaming underneath
And time is on your side
Its on your side now
Not pushing you down
And all around, no
It’s no cause for concern
Stuck on the end of this ball and chain
And I’m on my way back down again
Stood on a bridge, tied to the noose
Sick to the stomach
You can say what you mean
But it won’t change a thing
I’m sick of the secrets
Stood on the edge, tied to a noose
You came along and you cut me loose
You came along and you cut me loose
You came along and you cut me loose.
I don’t watch American Idol for the simple reason that I hate seeing public train wrecks. I often feel bad for them and it’s generally uncomfortable, probably because I can relate so well (especially after my catastrophically disastrous VP status call this morning but that’s a topic for a different post). When Amy sent me this video this morning, I almost quit watching after the first 30 seconds since I was sure this guy was just going to humiliate himself. I’m glad I kept watching.
The piece he sings is Nessun Dorma from Turandot, music by Giacomo Puccini and libretto by Renato Simoni.
Of course this video ruined this song forever for me but it’s damn funny. I’m pretty sure even Eddie himself has no idea what he is saying in this song.
[EDIT]:
And Even Flow… (I love the Heathen Frog line)
