Meet The Blueberry
Written by Michael on July 7th, 2009Amy is now almost 7 months along but we still haven’t named our little girl. In the early stages of pregnancy, Amy was reading a book that said the fetus was the “size of a blueberry” and of course I adopted that as her nickname. Everyday I asked “how is the Blueberry doing?” Today, I finally got to see her face. It was pretty humbling. I’m still at a loss for words so until they come to me, here is the video of the 3D ultrasound we got this afternoon:
(it’s pretty long and there’s no sound but pretty cool).

I was also amazed by watching her sleep. She definitely resembles Michael so far with holding her head while she sleeps and the hollow above her upper lip.

a nice yawn at 14:55. Of course she woke up later when I was taking a nap and thumped me all over :)

wow, amazing. loved watching every minute of it! She is beautiful! You will be amazed on how much these videos resemble them when they come out. I still look back at the twins and am in amazement of how much they looked like the pics., and I had my done at 17 weeks.
Oh ya, I have to tease my tech brother on this, it is 4D ultrasounds, not 3D. :>) love ya.

Well, actually, it’s not a 4D on this post because the 4th dimension would have been “real time” but of course you are watching this several hours after the fact. I thought about listing it as a 4D video but didn’t want my physics friends to bust me on the technicality. The “4th” dimension is certainly present here, but has little practical meaning to a viewer now so in terms of visual dimensions, 3 are all that matter.

Just watched it again with Kiersten so that she could see you baby cousin. I am trying to figure out whose nose she has. I think she has the buckingham lips, but when she smiled at the beginning, I think she has Amy’s smile. Could be wrong, but just some observations that I thought that I would share with you.

I found you looking for a miles per hour calculator on the web-I was trying to calculate average mph for a multi-day ride (XOBA-cross Ohio bike adventure, way cool). Congratulations on your child and since you have not decided on a name, may I shamelessly promote my favorite name: Theophilus, or Theophilia in the feminine form. It means “friend of God” and has a wonderful history of significance. It was a middle name of Mozart and was -more importantly, I think-my great grandfather’s name. Plus I will gift you a bright new shiny penny if you name your daughter Theophilia. Okay Okay you probably won’t go for it-i can’te ven get my friends to go for it, but I had to try. and congratulations. May your daughter ride a million miles on a bike and live to be 101 to tell her friends about it. And how she got her marvelous name.
By the way, blueberries species name is vaccinium-not nearly as lovely as Theophilia
