A Guilty Pleasure Revealed
Written by Michael on January 16th, 2008Ok, I admit it. I love and have loved for a long time, progressive vocal trance music. I’m hardcore and I take it seriously. I have a seperate NAS (Network Attached Storage) dedicated to this kind of music. I don’t advertise it and I hide it on my LAN like I would hide porn. Amy doesn’t even know how much I like it. But no more. I don’t dance to it but it’s really the only music that can make me completely lose myself and focus on something if I need to. But I have to be careful, it’s like a very powerful drug and has to be taken in moderation.
I had to write a very tight piece of code for work tonight and I remembered that trance keeps my ADHD at bay. So I loaded up a new directory of new tunes I’d recently downloaded and found an absolute gem that I’d forgotten about. My code got done, tested, and checked into SVN but I can’t get this track out of my head.
Check it out:

And don’t make fun of me
I was so exhausted tonight and had laid down but it was futile- this song gave me new life and I wanted to share.

I have to admit, I was surprised you listen to that kind of music. Not for me, though. :>).
Pics of the deer in your back yard are beautiful. Waiting for a pic of the bear when he returns to collect more fruit from the backyard tree.

Wow, Michael!!!
With that beat, if I were doing housework, I’d almost be finished as soon as I began. I thought that music was some sort of techno and the girls used to listen to something like that.

Thanks Michael, Kiersten loved that song. She keeps on playing it over and over again. Just like her uncle I guess, but she will dance to it:>). The boys must have liked it too, they actually stopped crying when Kiersten was playing it. Maybe I should get the music pumped through the house to keep them quite, so I can relax. :>)

Man, it did get me movin’ & groovin’ – but I have to admit after two minutes I was already tired (and that was sitting down!!)

I too am a closet trance lover. I got hooked on it years ago when I was serious about cycling in a snowy climate that forced indoor training- trance was my substitute for experiencing real wind in my face. Then, I used it sometimes as my life soundtrack doing relief work in Africa for a few years. Now I am married and things have changed…
