Wordpress 2.05 Released
Written by Michael on October 27th, 2006
Of course, since I just got done installing Wordpress 2.04 for 13 different customers today, the Wordpress gang has released 2.05 which contains security and bug fixes. You can find more complete release notes on Mark’s blog.
Anti-spam and sanity savior Askimet was also updated with this release.
As for the highly anticipated 2.1 release date, the developers and I are still trying to coordinate the time in which I will upgrade a bunch of sites and they will release code hours later that will break everything I had just done.
Guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow?
[Edit]: Fellow Ohioan Brian over at the codevave and Wordpress uber coder has released a list of the top 5 reasons to upgrade. Thanks Brian!

I’m just shlogging around looking for people who have reported errors in updating and encouragine people to pass the word on about updating. I’m doing a big campaign to get EVERYONE up to this release. So, thanks for spreading the word about the update. Too bad it had to come right after you got 2.0.4 out.
Are all your blogs on one server? If so I’ve got a “35 second upgrade” script on my site. It’s been reviewed by the members of the WP-Hackers list. So, it is safe. I’d post the link here, but I’m releasing an updated version of it later today and don’t want the old links floating around. Just look at the Top 5 reasons to upgrade article and follow the link from there. The script is easily adjusted for multiple blogs. It might help, but if you’ve hacked the core php significantely, it’s not gonna be for you…

Hey Brian, I actually haven’t had any problems with errors in upgrading to 2.05.
Unfortunately, I’m getting out of the hosting biz and most of my customers have migrated to different providers so it’s a vey manual procdess. Otherwise, it would be easily scriptable.
Thanks for the comment and the tip, I’m sure that will come in very handy someday.
