Too Good To Be True

Two nights ago, for the first time in my life, I actually had all the clothes I needed for a major job interview.  This was a radical departure from my usual M.O. that involves code red, freak outs the night before the big day.  Or so I thought.  I tried the pants on and found the shirt but when I went to put a tie on tonight, I discovered that I can't button the neck.  Son of a...  I've always had a disproportionately large neck for my body type and I must have grown a 1/4 inch or so since the last time I wore a shirt and tie.

Luckily, the interview isn't until 1:30 so I have some time to get another shirt.  If Amy doesn't strangle me first....

France, We Own Thee

Floyd Final

We tried to sell you on E-Bay but 0 bidders for this auction!!

Wow, one helluva Tour and hopefully this means at least one more year of OLN TV coverage. I've watched stage 17 three times now and still think it was the greatest performance of any bike race at any time during my life. I get goose bumps even writing about it.

Crazy From The Heat

Ok, I probably shouldn't be bitching about the heat when the rest of the country is worse off than we are but this heat is killing me.  Seattle hit 98 today and what was unusual about it was the 90% humidity.  Of course I live fairly far away from the water so it hit triple digits out here in Fall City.  Just oppressive.  Though it was been hotter temperature wise here, I've never felt so sticky.  The forecast says two more days of this.  Thank the sweet baby jebus for central air conditioning!

Stunning.

19

I'm not a Floyd Landis fan but today's performance was stunning. Just stunning. I haven't seen anything like that since Greg LeMond in 1989. Maybe even better. Unfortunately, I lack the vocabulary to describe Floyd's punishing and absolute deliverance of retribution on the peloton.

You can read about it here and see Graham Watson's pictures here.

Frank Schleck Takes D’Huez

Frank Schleck

Luembourgan Frank Schleck won today's stage up to L'Alpe D'Huez. From the race reports I've read, it was a pretty good stage but I haven't had time to watch it yet since I spent the day worrying and getting back my car. Amy would have killed me anyway :)
