A Soul Trapped In A Corpse
I don't watch E.R. a lot (or any TV for that matter) and when I do it's only to get a Maura Tierny fix, but last night's episode was the greatest acting performance I'd ever seen. James Woods played a former medical school professor stricken with ALS that shows up in the E.R. after contracting pneumonia. I can't even put the rest of the episode into words. If you Tivo'd or recorded, make sure you watch it. The classroom bit with the lecture on my favorite human body process, ATP was particularly good. That episode will stay with me for a quite while.
Yet another reason for me to get a living will...
Google Earth in Your Browser!
Someone has ported one of my favorite applications, Google Earth to Flash 8 which you can view in any browser. Kick ass. You can also view Micrsoft's Virtual Earth.
Shall We Play A Game?
Yesterday I found this great new old 1970's terminal emulator on Digg and I was so addicted to it that it took me a day to blog it. My Engineering team at Speakeasy loaded it up and loved playing with the different options that include baud rate emulation that will put once character on the screen at a time. Highly recommended if your a CLI junkie like me and have a Mac.
If it only had a sound for each character displayed, it would be like Joshua on War Games.
Plus it has a cool icon!

Can You Say Stupid?

So, let me get this straight. CBS is going to offer video downloads of Survivor TV for a $1.99, same deal as I-Tunes television show downloads, but CBS is going to throw in a "value add." CBS makes your TV shows expire a day after you download them. LOL. Seriously, the product managers and execs responsible for this need to be relieved of their duty.
I'll stick with iTunes for now, until somebody shows me something better. Or better yet, to punish them, I'll just get any CBS episodes I want off of Bittorrent.
In other stupid news, ABC thinks that changing the start time by one minute will keep Tivos (or any DVR like my Comcast DVR) from being able to record Grey's Anatomy. Why would a network go want people to not watch their show? Seriously? Why?
Do me a favor and just grab your episodes off of bittorrent using Piratebay.org for the search and Bitcomet to download the torrent.
